Project overview

Practice placements in Cape Town in cooperation with Good Hope Volunteers, directed at social enterprises and initiatives that create social value through work, inclusion and coping.

Background

KBT wanted to offer placements abroad that go beyond ordinary work or study periods. The stated aim is to carry the KBT concept into the placement itself, keeping the focus on marginalised and weak voices through direct 1:1 contact with people and small user surveys.

Objectives

  • · Give students practical experience from social enterprises
  • · Develop new models for international practice
  • · Develop professional modules together with local partners
  • · Strengthen the exchange of experience between South Africa and Norway

Partners

  • · Good Hope Volunteers, Cape Town

KBT's role

KBT organises and supervises the placement, and students follow their teaching in Norway digitally in parallel with the stay abroad.

Target groups

  • · Students in the Peer Consultant Education
  • · Students in Social Entrepreneurship

Activities

  • · Initiatives that help women into working life
  • · Recovery and rehabilitation for people with addiction challenges
  • · Work with youth and vulnerable groups
  • · Community development and social inclusion
  • · Workshops, supervision and learning with local professionals

Results / expected results

  • · Placement in South Africa approved for support from Lånekassen from spring 2026
  • · A repeatable model for supervised placements abroad
