Practice Placement in South Africa
Experience Cape Town through hands-on practice in social enterprises and inclusion initiatives. Work alongside local teams that amplify marginalised voices, build work inclusion, and strengthen community recovery and development. You will also take part in outreach social work, addiction treatment, mental health rehabilitation, and initiatives for homeless and vulnerable groups, while continuing your teaching digitally from Norway.

Practice Placement in India
Step into India's vibrant social landscape and work directly with outreach teams, addiction treatment, recovery programmes, and mental health rehabilitation. Placements are coordinated on the ground by Shiksha Bridge EDU India, which arranges supervised group placements across eight fields of practice, peer support, social entrepreneurship, mental health and substance use, homelessness, street-connected children, community development, municipal projects, and restaurant and business development. Every host organisation is visited and approved before students arrive, and each group has a named local mentor. The placement is a joint India–Norway endeavour, with ongoing digital teaching and supervision from KBT in Norway.

Erasmus+ Mobility for Students
Mobility for studies or placements in Europe supported through Erasmus+, made possible by KBT's ECHE certification.

Practical information
Everything an incoming student needs before and after arrival in Trondheim.
Trondheim
The head office is at Sorgenfriveien 9, close to the city gate. KBT also has campuses in Tromsø, Steinkjer, Ålesund, Hamar, Sarpsborg, Stavanger and Kristiansand.
Accommodation
Housing is arranged for each visit or placement. The International Office advises on options and puts you in contact with hosts.
Transport
Nearest bus stops are Bratsbergvegen, Siemens and Valøyvegen. Parking is available outside the building and at Trondheimsporten.
Language
English is the working language in international activity. For placements abroad, lower secondary school English is sufficient.
Admission and application steps

Costs, insurance and visa
Exchange students nominated by partner institutions pay no tuition fee at KBT. Travel, accommodation and living costs are covered by the participant, often supported by an Erasmus+ grant. Participants are responsible for valid travel and health insurance, and the International Office issues the documentation needed for visa or residence applications.

International lecturers, practitioners and experts can contribute lectures, seminars and workshops at KBT, or take part in shared professional development with staff and students.
