Europe

Norway is KBT's home base. The head office is in Trondheim, and the college operates eight campuses across the country, offering accredited higher vocational education in Social Entrepreneurship and Peer Consultant work. International guests are received in Trondheim, where education, research and practice are combined in the same professional environment.

Africa

Cape Town is where KBT's international placement programme began. Under Table Mountain, students step straight into some of the most advanced social enterprises in the southern hemisphere, organisations that turn work, dignity and skills into a real way out of homelessness and addiction. KBT cooperates with Good Hope Volunteers and works closely with U-turn Homeless Ministries, whose 25-year pathway out of homelessness is a living case study in everything the college teaches about social entrepreneurship and recovery.

India offers students insight into how social challenges are handled in a very different societal context, marked by cultural diversity, strong traditions and clear social and economic contrasts. KBT cooperates with several local organisations on placements within outreach work, addiction, mental health and community development.

KBT sees China as an important long-term partner for education, research and social innovation. Priority areas include eldercare and the silver economy, mental health and community-based support, vocational education, rural and regional development, and joint research. KBT has facilitated a meeting in Norway for representatives of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and in 2025 KBT was specially invited to China as a guest in connection with the ASEAN meeting.

Brazil is part of KBT's wider international network beyond Europe. Cooperation is being developed around social entrepreneurship, community development and social inclusion, and Brazil is planned as a future destination for international practice placements.

Canada is being explored as a long-term partner for education, mental health practice and social entrepreneurship. KBT is interested in dialogue with Canadian colleges, research organisations and community initiatives on recovery-oriented practice, lived experience and vocational education.

Europe

Cooperation with the United Kingdom is centred on recovery-oriented practice and the CHIME framework. Dr. Mary Leamy has given lectures for students in the peer support worker education at KBT, and England is planned as a future destination for international practice placements.

Sweden is a close partner in Nordic and Interreg cooperation, including the MERSE project under Interreg NPA and the SING project on social innovation and rural development. Swedish partners also take part in the Nordic-Baltic network on educating peer support workers.

Poland is part of KBT's Erasmus+ cooperation on education, social entrepreneurship and inclusion, including work on entrepreneurship among migrants and life-skills education for young people.

Cooperation with Ukraine focuses on mental health, social inclusion and competence development in demanding circumstances, drawing on KBT's experience with recovery-oriented practice and experience-based knowledge.
