Project overview

Placements coordinated with Shiksha Bridge EDU India together with partners such as SPYM and Rural Awareness Foundation, covering outreach work, addiction treatment, mental health, rehabilitation and community development.

Background

India has great cultural diversity, strong traditions and clear social and economic contrasts. This gives students insight into how social challenges are handled in another societal context. On the ground the programme is coordinated by Shiksha Bridge EDU India, which arranges supervised placements for groups of 10–15 students across eight fields of practice, visits and approves every host organisation in advance, and gives each group a named local mentor. Placements run from four weeks up to three months, with six weeks as the standard programme.

· Connect professional knowledge to concrete social challenges
· Strengthen cooperation between Norwegian and Indian professional environments

KBT's role

KBT coordinates the placement, supervises students and develops professional content together with the local partners. Shiksha Bridge EDU India handles host matching, placement proposals, practical preparation and local follow-up from its office in New Delhi, so each group receives a written proposal with host organisation, focus, tasks and duration before the placement is confirmed.
