Practice placements in India approved for student support
2026

The practice placement in India was approved for support from Lånekassen, opening a second destination in KBT's international placement programme.
KBT Vocational College cooperates with Shiksha Bridge EDU India on practice placements and professional development. The cooperation is directed in particular at social enterprises and initiatives that create social value through work, inclusion and coping. Shiksha Bridge arranges supervised placements for groups of 10–15 students, visits and approves every host organisation in advance and gives each group a named local mentor.
Students can take part in outreach work, addiction treatment and recovery, mental health and rehabilitation, work with homeless and vulnerable groups, street-connected children, and community development and social inclusion, in placements that run from four weeks up to three months, with six weeks as the standard programme. Host organisations include SPYM and the Rural Awareness Foundation in and around New Delhi.
During the placement, students continue to follow their teaching in Norway digitally, so the stay abroad is integrated into the study programme rather than replacing it.
