The most comprehensive recovery training offering available today, eight modules, free of charge, in several languages including Hindi, open to anyone with an internet connection.

Background

The CHIME framework, connectedness, hope, identity, meaning and empowerment, was developed by researchers in England from a review of nearly 100 qualitative studies on recovery, and published by Leamy, Bird, Le Boutillier, Williams and Slade in 2011. It is used worldwide to understand personal recovery. CHIME 2.0 answers the harder question: how do you actually work this way, on a Tuesday morning, in a real service? KBT built an e-learning course that turns the framework into practice.

Objectives

· Translate recovery research into practical, downloadable tools
· Make recovery training freely available across languages and borders
· Strengthen recovery competence in municipal and specialist services
· Cooperate with international recovery researchers, including Dr. Mary Leamy
· Qualify the course for micro-credits, a small number of study points, for example one per module

KBT's role

Course owner, developer and provider, integrating lived experience into the teaching.

Target groups

· Practitioners in municipal mental health and addiction services
· Specialist health services and refugee services
· Correctional services working with people in a recovery process
· NAV employees working with marginalised groups
· Students in mental health

Activities

· Eight-module e-learning course, from introduction to implementation
· Modules on trauma-sensitive care in a recovery perspective and on cultural competence
· Blended learning: text, video, audio, quizzes, worksheets and reflection tasks
· Downloadable resources so each participant builds their own toolbox
· Lectures and course development with Dr. Mary Leamy

Results / expected results

· A free e-course launched 9 April 2026, available in several languages including English, Norwegian and Hindi
