KBT Marks the Day of the Defenders of Ukraine

On Thursday, 1 October, KBT gathered Ukrainian veterans and members of the Ukrainian community to mark the Day of the Defenders of Ukraine.

The day was an opportunity to honour those who have served, those who continue to defend Ukraine, and those who have made profound sacrifices in the defence of their country. The gathering also recognised the strength, resilience and experiences carried by Ukrainian veterans and their families.

Following the Norwegian language class, participants shared traditional Ukrainian food prepared at KBT. The informal gathering created space for conversation, remembrance and fellowship.

Representatives from the Norwegian veteran community were also present, joining the commemoration in a spirit of respect and solidarity.

The gathering provided an opportunity to introduce the newly established Ukrainian veterans’ association in Norway and to present some of the veteran-related initiatives being developed through KBT.

For KBT, it was important that this day remained first and foremost a Ukrainian commemoration — a moment to honour Ukraine’s defenders, recognise their service and sacrifice, and create a place where Ukrainian veterans could meet with dignity, respect and community.
